The Malignant Narcissist: Serial Killer by Proxy

No one is more dangerous than a malignant narcissist. These folks are evil personified and consistently exhibit extreme personality traits that combine cruelty, deceit, and an unmitigated thirst for control regardless of the circumstances. When such an individual gains power—whether in politics, business, or on a personal level—the consequences can be devastating. Though rarely for them. Unlike your run of the mill narcissist who may be self-centered and attention-seeking but still functions within societal norms, the malignant narcissist doesn't believe that rules or laws apply to them. Therefore, granting them any degree of authority invites certain despair and often, death.

Some, like notorious cult leaders Charles Manson and Jim Jones, become serial killers by proxy, where they persuade their followers to menace, threaten, even butcher and poison others on their behalf. They don't have to do the dirty work, being the lazy cowards they typically are. Instead, they conjure a proxy—someone or something else to do the killing for them. These dank, cavernous vessels also tend to be extreme sadists who derive great pleasure from all the hell they unleash. Why? Because it reinforces their insatiable sense of power, control, and superiority over others. They lack empathy and a human touch, and often experience schadenfreude—taking joy in others' suffering—because it validates their belief in their own dominance. For them, it's control above all else.

Witnessing chaos or causing harm feeds the malignant narcissist's grandiosity, making them feel godlike and invincible. Additionally, their destruction often provokes strong emotional reactions in others, which malignant narcissists thoroughly enjoy and exploit for their own amusement and/or satisfaction. Their sadistic tendencies, combined with a deep-seated insecurity, drive them to seek out or orchestrate suffering in order to maintain their fragile yet inflated self-image.

One of the most dangerous aspects of a malignant narcissist in power is their cunning and manipulative nature. They're highly skilled at deceptionusing lies, half-truths, and repetition, repetition, repetition to control others. In the year of our lord 2025, social media is their preferred weapon of mass distraction. They gaslight those around them, making others question their own perceptions and memories. By distorting reality, they erode trust and create mass confusion, ensuring that their victims remain dependent upon them. This manipulation extends to entire families, organizations, and/or societies writ large, where they manufacture crises, scapegoat innocent people, and rewrite history to suit their narrative. Their ability to lie is unmatched. It's second nature to them.

Vladimir Putin, for example, justified his attack on Ukraine to his own people and all the Russian mothers by saying that their sons would be "Nazi hunting" in the sovereign nation ironically led by a comedic Jew. They would be on a hero's mission. The young, ignorant Russian army, believing Putin's Big Lie, became his "patriotic" proxy for child kidnapping, mass murder, and untold atrocities that drone on to this day.

Being inexplicably devoid of compassion, malignant narcissists have no genuine concern for the well-being of others. Not even for animals or their own children, in many cases. Their lack of humanity allows them to exploit and discard people without a second thought. They see other individuals, regardless of who, as tools to be used rather than as sentient beings with feelings and rights. In positions of power, they prioritize personal gain over ethical decision-making, often engaging in corruption, abuse, and reckless policies that harm the masses. Never forget, they enjoy others' suffering like we enjoy sex and coffee. Their tragic inability to form authentic emotional connections makes them especially dangerous in leadership roles where kindness and empathy are cornerstones.

Another alarming trait of the malignant narcissist is their extreme vindictiveness. They simply cannot tolerate criticism or perceived slights and will go to great lengths to destroy anyone who challenges them. Being thin-skinned to the max is a hallmark of the malignant narcissist. It can manifest in personal relationships through emotional and psychological abuse, or on a larger scale through political purges, censorship, and violent suppression of dissent. Their lust for revenge leads to an environment of fear and oppression, where people are too afraid to speak out or challenge their authority. In reality, they're paper tigers play-acting as kings. Or, as we prefer to call them... little bitches.

Ultimately, allowing a malignant narcissist like a Charles Manson, Jim Jones, Vladimir Putin or anyone like them to gain power inevitably leads to widespread suffering and destruction where no one is safe. Their unchecked arrogance, deceit, cruelty and greed know no bounds and create toxic environments where morality is eroded, evil proliferates, and countless people die. Needlessly. This includes women and children. The longer they remain in charge, the more damage they inflict, often leaving irreparable scars on individuals, institutions, and nations alike. Recognizing these dangers and preventing such individuals from gaining influence is essential for the well-being of any society, workplace, or personal relationship.

Unfortunately, they're everywhere. Stay vigilant. Recognize the signs.

The Devil Inside: Shakespeare's Medievalism

“Men should be what they seem; Or those that be not, would they might seem  none!” -- William Shakespeare Though thematically timeless and unforgettable in style and execution, the plays of William  Shakespeare aren’t entirely to his credit. But while it’s true that he drew inspiration  from previously existing tales and texts, and often modeled his plays after Roman  tragedies, there's no denying the fact that he put a decidedly secular stamp on whatever  source/structure he appropriated. Nowhere is his creative licensing more true to worldly  form than in his 1603 tragedy, Othello: The Moor of Venice . Tapping the Medieval morality  play a la Everyman and Mankind , Shakespeare drops notions of envy, jealousy, and  mercy into a 17th Century Italian Navy . Unlike the  Medieval tradition, however, Shakespeare offers no moral resolution for his characters . What he does do is put a chilling new spin on dramatic conventions...

School is Whack

“When the indigenous and neoindigenous are silenced, they tend to respond to the denial of their voices by showcasing their culture in vivid, visceral, and transgressive ways. Like the indigenous, urban youth distinguish themselves from the larger culture through their dress, their music , their creativity in nonacademic endeavors, and their artistic output. In much public discourse, the ways in which they express themselves creatively are denigrated."               - Christopher Emdin           At least when I was a barista the customer wanted what I was selling. These fiends would be lined up, wild-eyed like the living dead, waiting to be let in at the crack of dawn. But lo and behold, they'd actually thank and even tip us… cash money …for our service. As a public school teacher in America, conversely, my "customers" weren't the least bit interested in and rarely grateful for what I was peddlin' - infor...

Sex & Coffee: A Bitter Little Time Capsule of Love

“Well, it's certainly true in life that the greatest hell one can know is to be separated from the one you love.” — Joseph Campbell The Power of Myth *** Friday, June 14, 2019 My Dearest Matthew, In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that I’ve been turning over in my mind ever since. “If you want people to like you,” he instructed me on countless occasions over the course of years, “be very interested in everything they have to say. Act like you really care about their lives.” He also advised me to pay close attention to the casual words folks utter when first you meet them. “If you pay close attention,” the old man assured me with a twinkle in his blue eye, “ people will tell you who they are and what they’re going to do. It’s subtle but they’ll tell ya. Listen.”  What seemed more abstract than obvious when first I heard it grew explicit as time wore on. Turns out, Pops was on to something. Ornery old bastard made everything about hi...

Conversations with Plastic Jesus: Essays from the Edge

The interior of my home, curiously, looks like a museum to all things spiritual. Curious, as I belong to no religion and bow to no man. Don’t come knocking on my door with any pamphlets or bother trying to recruit me for your cult . Respectfully, I ain't the one. I go into full rigor mortis at the thought of such things.  But ever since the Spirit of Christ slipped into my Civic coupe that morning through a crack in the passenger side window, enveloped my entire being in his loving atmosphere, and as if by telepathy indicated that I needed to forgive all the selfish, sick souls who'd ever trespassed against me—that it was the only way I'd untwist myself from this burning kink of pain —I began, in earnest, collecting spiritual icons of various faiths in remembrance of my divine encounter. It was 2003 , and I was in my prime. I was also in the grip of a nasty addiction to drugs, alcohol, sex and crime.  Before that miraculous morning, I never believed Christ existed. His fol...
