The Malignant Narcissist: Serial Killer by Proxy

No one is more dangerous than a malignant narcissist . These folks are evil personified and consistently exhibit extreme personality traits that combine cruelty, deceit, and an unmitigated thirst for control, regardless of the circumstances. When such an individual gains power —whether in politics, business, or on a personal level —the consequences can be devastating. Though rarely for them.  Unlike your run of the mill narcissist who may be self-centered and attention-seeking but still functions within societal norms, the malignant narcissist doesn't believe that rules or laws apply to them. Therefore, granting them any degree of authority invites despair and often, death.      Some, like notorious cult leaders Charles Manson and Jim Jones, become serial killers by proxy, where they persuade their followers to menace, threaten, even butcher and poison others on their behalf. They don't have to do the dirty work, being the lazy cowards they ...

Land of Confusion

Discerning Fact from Fiction in a Complex World. "without providing for a time of healing and discernment, there will be no hope of living through this present moment without a shattering of our common life" -Charles Spurgeon      In the era of information overload, discerning fact from fiction is more challenging and important than ever. The rise of social media, biased news sources, artificial intelligence, and deepfake technology has made it increasingly difficult to determine what is true and real.       Thankfully, despite the confusion, there are reliable ways to uncover the truth in any situation, but it requires a mindful approach . Consider the source, right? Always. And consult with other credible sources ...

The Dangers of a Society Without Truth

The Dangers of a Society Without Truth.      When the masses are uncertain about truth, the very foundation of a society becomes unstable and ultimately, dangerous. Truth is the guiding force that allows people to make informed decisions, hold leaders accountable, and build a functioning society. Without it - confusion, manipulation, and chaos ensue. In such an environment, misinformation spreads like a hurricane wildfire, leading to a rapid breakdown in trust, the rise of violent extremism, and the erosion of democracy itself. A nation that cannot distinguish fact from fiction risks falling into corruption, social unrest, and authoritarian rule. The end result of this convergences of forces is always death, as democracies (and their people) die in darkness. That darkness, being the dimming of truth.      One of the most immediate dangers of truth being obscured is the spread of misinformation , which allows powerful entities to manipulate the public via co...

A Good Planet is Hard to Find

"If there's a hell , this is it." -V. K. Roach      I WAS a friendly 7th grade student  at Precious Blood Catholic Elementary in Banning when it happened — when I became obsessed with two disturbing things: (1) Mark Thomson , my drop dead gorgeous dark-eyed paramour  one grade behind me and (2) nasty old chewing gum plastered underneath restaurant tables.  Inexplicably, after being seated at any public eatery regardless of where beginning around age 12 — my mind, body, and soul would suddenly be seized   by tormenting  currents  of joy and disgust. Joy, because e ating out is my favorite thing in life. Always has been and will be. Especially when the ocean (Chart House, Malibu) or bean and cheese burritos are involved. And disgust, because the act of sitting down for a meal at any public table grew increasingly unbearable ,  causing me to unravel on the spot from the inside. On the rare occasion there was a tabl...
